Amethyst and Fossilized Walrus Tusk Silver Teardrop Necklace

Our amethyst drop necklace is designed around this deep purple stone that looks especially royal when placed near our 14k gold fill floral accents. Amethyst is the semi-precious stone of calm, balance, and peace—all attributes we tend to associate with the garden and with nature. This piece, like a window into the garden, is created in deep tones that evoke a sunset among the flowers as the day's shadows soften to deep purple.

Our designers selected a mixed metal sterling silver and 14kt gold fill treatment for this silver teardrop necklace. The pendant can be worn with either silver or gold toned accessory jewelry to complement its interesting mixed metal look. The flowers stand out as a focal point thanks to their rich hue.

The pendant's base is hand carved from fossilized walrus ivory, a prized ancient material that is between 500 and 3,000 years old. For centuries, our walrus ivory has lain buried underground where it accretes its variegated cream to caramel and warm cocoa hues. The fossilized walrus ivory's variegated coloring is part of what makes this organic material so desirable as an accent in carved ivory pendants and fossilized ivory jewelry pieces.

Fossilized walrus ivory is an important cultural and indigenous economic resource for the Native peoples who gather it to carve, sell, and trade.
