The accent materials in this eclipse necklace are hand carved from fossilized walrus tusk. This tusk has lain in the earth for some 500 to 3,000 years where it accretes a range of warm toned hues due to minerals in the earth. The result is a resilient and lustrous material that is ideal for carving and for pieces of art jewelry.
Our artisans select the fossilized walrus ivory pieces in varied tones to lend the pendant depth and dimension. Two sparkling blue topaz stones balance the fossilized ivory’s warmth.
