Fossilized Walrus Tusk and Rainbow Moonstone Pendant

This fossilized ivory and silver moonstone pendant makes a striking addition to your jewelry collection with its distinctive border and combination of fine natural materials. The rainbow moonstone’s inner “fire” is the perfect foil for the fossilized ivory’s denser, earthy feel. This is the kind of rainbow moonstone pendant that goes beyond the ordinary and expected with its touch of ivory that is many centuries old.

Rainbow moonstone is considered a deeply spiritual stone thanks to its association with the mystical realms, the psyche, and the emotions. Rainbow moonstone in particular is becoming increasingly rare as the mines that produce it have a finite supply.

The fossilized walrus tusk featured in this pendant is some 500 to 3,000 years old. It has lain in the earth for most of its long life, accreting a warm cream to deep cocoa hue. Native Alaskans gather this rare material for carving, sale, and trade after erosion or the tides has unearthed it. It is valued the world over as a unique addition to fine jewelry and art works.
