Our designers sought to create a silver mother of pearl pendant that incorporates some of our favorite natural materials as well as a universally recognized nature motif in this piece. The river, which can be seem to symbolize eternity and transience, captures the eye in brilliantly colored New Zealand paua shell. This type of abalone lives only in New Zealand waters, and its shell is celebrated for its vibrant cobalt, green, and sunset coral shades.
The soaring bird is crafted from hand carved and inked fossilized mammoth ivory, which is over 15,000 years old. Mammoth ivory's prized opaque luminosity lends jewelry a touch of antiquity and quality that is impossible to fake. It has lain in permafrost or the earth for millennia, gradually accreting a range of cream to caramel hues.
