This unique sterling silver pendant- which features a Moroccan ammonite that is over 200 million years old- will add unforgettable flair to any jewelry collection.
This pendant measures 1 1/4" wide x 1 1/2" tall (approx)
This Moroccan ammonite pendant features the spectacular symmetry of a 200 million year old fossil. The Moroccan ammonite was a sea creature that died out at about the same time the dinosaurs did. The species died out so completely, in fact, that none of its close relatives remain. What we have left are gorgeous Fibonacci-style spiral fossils that make beautiful ammonite necklaces and ammonite jewelry.
Ammonite fossils come to us in variety of sizes, but all highlight the spiral patterning that make them so distinctive. The design echoes the spiral in the detailed sterling silver ammonite pendant top, which enhances the symbolism in this piece. The spiral is one of the oldest symbols known to man, expressed in cave paintings that date back many millennia. The spiral has come to represent the cosmos, and the birth cycle.
The texture, spiral patterning, and balance in this ammonite necklace all combine to create a one-of-a-kind piece you’ll treasure for years to come.
This pendant comes on an 18" sterling silver 1.1mm box with with a secure sterling silver lobster clasp.
