"Trilobite Scarab" Fossilized Walrus Tusk and Trilobite Fossil Sterling Silver Sterling Earrings

These fossil earrings feature a trilobite that is some 450-550 million years old, lending a touch of ancient history to their striking contemporary design.

These striking trilobite earrings from our fossil jewelry collection feature fossilized trilobites, "Elrathia Kingi." This extinct form of marine life was the first invertebrate, flourishing some 450-550 million years ago. Prior to the dinosaurs, trilobites were the most numerous species on earth. When worked into jewelry such as these earrings, trilobites are true modern-day stars for the touch of ancient life they bring to contemporary designs.

The top accent on these trilobite earrings are hand carved from fossilized walrus ivory, which is between 500 and 3,000 years old. The native Yupik of St. Lawrence Island, Alaska, gather the fossilized walrus ivory for sale, trade, and their own art works. The Yupik are the only ones who have permission to collect this gorgeous material in the area. It is an important economic and cultural resource for them, and it makes a wonderful addition to our fossil jewelry.

These earrings measures 5/8" wide x 1 1/2" tall (approx)
