Low tech, simple solutions work but take extra steps and care. Rubber stoppers for dangle earrings with french wires and making sure friction backs are still snug takes time and effort. Upgrading to a more secure earring finding is a more permanent solution.
Leverbacks are a great choice for dangle earrings. Some leverbacks have peg settings for pearls. Others have a ring which makes conversion from french wires very simple and can often be done at the counter while you wait.
Threaded posts with screw on and screw off backs are a good solution for post earrings. For those more sensitive ears that are bothered by threaded posts, La Pousette posts are smooth but still have a locking back.
