Zealandia Starfish Jewelry in Silver, Fossilized Tusk, and Blue Topaz

The starfish - or sea star - is a highly sensitive and uniquely sensory creature. Delicate nerves run through is center and spider out to the tip of each arm, and certain species can even regenerate these limbs if lost. They harness the sea currents in lieu of blood to pump nutrients through their body and appear as almost 2,000 different species the world over.

The regenerative and sensitive qualities inherent to the starfish make it a tender symbol of the sea. Our starfish pendant in silver and blue topaz is carved from fossilized walrus ivory, a centuries old material once buried in the earth and uncovered again by the tides or erosion. Native peoples gather this fossilized ivory and it is carved into pieces of Zealandia starfish jewelry and other fine works of art.

This starfish necklace in silver and fossilized ivory is as beguiling as the ocean itself with a sparkling faceted blue topaz accent. This aqua stone is knowns as the stone of clarity and concentration, and it is reminiscent of the ocean's rejuvenating powers. Blue topaz is especially lovely when paired with the fossilized carved ivory featured in this pendant.
