Cook Island Pearls

Our favorite pearls are those cultured and harvested in the Cook Islands, deep in the South Pacific. Pyramid Studios has the largest collections of Cook Island Pearls in Maine. We design and make unique pieces for our store showcases as well as custom pieces for our design customers.

Cook Island Pearls are dusky and lustrous wonders created by nature. Iridescent overtones of blue, green, gold, pink and purple shimmer across the body of the pearls’ deeper silver through to black shades.

Cook Island Pearls are generally larger than the white classic freshwater or other saltwater pearls.  They are produced by the black-lipped oyster, Pinctada Margaritifera , which thrives in the unpolluted lagoons of Manihiki in the Cooks.
